The leadership at AIMS consistently demonstrates extraordinary commitment to academic success despite extraordinary odds.  In Oakland, where only 2 in 10 African-American students can read at grade level,  55% of Black students at AIMS Elementary read at grade level—the the only school in Oakland to exceed California State averages.

The results show.  By graduation from the AIMS High School:

  • 97% students have excellent attendance
  • 100% attend a 4-year college
  • College acceptances include: Yale, Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, Columbia, Howard, USC and more.

As a partner, AIMS is working closely with us to research and develop the R.E.A.L tool so that it will work easily in classrooms to support literacy development for all students.
